So it's function is well known that it stores any type of data. Suppose when we save a picture in our computer then the it is stored in the memory device i.e. hard-disk.

There are two types of memory. One is volatile memory and other is non volatile memory. Random Access Memory (RAM) is volatile memory while Read Only Memory is non volatile memory.
