The function of the nucleolus is to transcribe DNA into ribosomal RNA and assemble rRNA into ribosomal subunits. The creation of rRNA is important because rRNA makes up ribosomes which are responsible for protein synthesis in the cell.

"Function of nucleolus:

Nucleolus can be defined as the "small dense" spherical structure found in the "nucleus of a cell".

It is mainly composed of "ribosomal subunits" from proteins and "ribosomal RNA" which is also known "as rRNA".

The main function of the nucleolus is to send subunits of ribosomes which involves in the synthesis of proteins in the living cell.

Hence we can say that "nucleolus plays" a "vital role" in making "proteins in the cell"."
