The main function of plasma membrane are :-
>> It provides a barrier for the cell organalls , cytoplasm , nucleoplasm . So that they a may not spread out .
>> It gives permission of very few materials for in and out the cell . So , it is also known as semi permiabke membrane .
>> It reduces the osmotuc pressure exerted on the walls of membrane and prevents cells to get brust .

Functions:
1) they keep toxic substances out of the cell. They do not allow to get them out.
2) they separate vital but incompatible metabolic processes conducted within organelles.
3) does not allow to enter harmful Substances in to the cell.
