Ptyalin is an enzyme secreted in buccal cavity
It acts on carbohydrates and converts them into Dextrose and Maltose
this helps in breaking down of food substances in mouth in the proces of mastication.
here saliva acts and makes slippery
Remember Ptyalin is alkaline in nature i.e.,BASE
