the receptors play a very important role in human body and as well as life. receptors detect the change in the environment and send the message to the brain through the sensory nerve.
there are five types of receptors .
1.. photoreceptors ( receptors for light.) in eyes.
2.phonoreceptors ( for hearing.) in ears
3. olfactoreceptors.. ( for smelling) in nose
4. gustatoreceptors ( for tasting) in tongue
5. mechanoreceptors ( for touch) in skin.
our brain will not get the proper knowledge about the things around us and this can lead to accidents and will not able to decide proper actions.

Explanation:

Functions of receptors:

→ They sense the external stimuli such as heat or pain.

→ They also trigger an impulse in the sensory neuron which sends message to the spinal cord.

When the receptors are damaged, the external stimuli transferring signals to the brain are not felt. For example, in the case of damaged receptors, if we accidentally touch any hot object, then our hands might get burnt as damaged receptors cannot perceive the external stimuli of heat and pain.
