Rods secrete rhodopsin..Visual purple
Cones secrete Iodopsin

rods are sensitive to dim light and do not respond to color
cones cells are sensitive to bright light and are sensitive to color

rods are distributed throughout retina

cones cells are mostly present in yellow spot..it is a slight depression also called as macula lutea
