The cells of phloem is called sieve tubes or sieve elements. The end walls of cells in phloem form sieve plates, which have small holes in them. These holes in sieve plates allow the food to pass along the phloem tubes.

Answer:

The sieve plates are present in phloem of the plant. Sieve plates has many holes present in it, through these holes’ phloem allows the food to pass through them.

Explanation:

The sieve plates separate phloem tissue from one another. For the passage of food there must be a way through which the food is conveyed to different parts of the plants, sieve plates have perforated plates which help for the same.
