function of stomata is to take in CO2 and give out O2 . it is located in the lower surface os the leaves . In the stems , it is oc urs through lenticels

1)helps in exchange of gases.
2)Helps in transpiration,thereby help them maintain their temperatureduring summer.
3)Transpiration is also a major factor for taking up of water from soil to upper parts of plant.
