Stomatal opening is an opening present in the epidermis of leaves It is used for the exchange of gases like oxygen, carbon dioxide etc which are used for various purposes like photosynthesis, respiration
It also helps in transpiration ie, the lose of excess water
The opening and closing of the stomata is regulated by the guard cells surrounding the opening
