• Vacoules are storage sacs for liquids and solids.

• Vacoules are small in size in animal cell but they are large in plant cell.

• Central vacoule of plant cell may occupies 50-90 % of the cell volume.

• In plant cells the vacoules are full of cell sap and provides the turgidity and rigidity of the cell.

• Substances like amino acids , sugar , various organic acids and proteins are stored in vacoules.

• In amoeba the food vacoules contains the food item that amoeba has consumed.

• Vacoules play important role in expelling excess water and some wastes from the cell of unicellular organisms.
