I think what you're asking, are valves, these are there in the arteries and veins as a door which open in only one direction. They are to make sure that when the heart contracts and expands, the blood only moves in the direction it's supposed to move, and doesn't flow backwards(the valves will close if the blood is moving in the wrong direction and open easily for blood moving the right way).
