Being a democratic country, political parties play very significant role in smooth functioning of India and all other democratic nations. All the political leaders form a separate party and include a number of members in them and they work together for the well being and development of the nation. And presence of many political parties create a sense of competition among them due to which they find shortcomings of each other and this in a way helps(unto a limit) in finding more appropriate and efficient policies for development of country. If all the participants take individual part in elections then it will be very difficult to handle everything alone. When all the members work together then things become far more easier.
