What is the fundamental differnce between strong and weak acid

Acid solutions contain hydrogen ions. The higher the concentration of hydrogen ions, the lower the pH. Hydrochloric acidis a strong acid and ethanoic acid is aweak acid. Strong acids are fully ionised but weak acids are only partly ionised in solution.
