The fundamental units of matter are atoms. All matter, including liquids, solids and gases, are made up of these tiny building blocks. They are the smallest units of every element in existence. Every atom of each element is unique with its own configuration and mass. Within atoms are even smaller subatomic particles called protons, neutrons and electrons.

Hi...

The basic unit of all matter is the atom. The atom is the smallest unit of matter that can't be divided using any chemical means and the building block that has unique properties. In other words, an atom of each element is different from an atom of any other element.
