what is the funtion of sunken stomata ?

Explanation:

The sunken stomata are responsible for creating small pockets of air which are filled with moist air. This increases the humidity around the stomata and thus no more water can be released by the stomata during transpiration. Thus, transpiration is prevented and there is no loss of water.
