The GANGA ACTION PLAN was launched in 1986 by Sri Rajiv Gandhi with the main objective to treat water polution by interseption to take measures which may prevent further deterioration of thr river. Ganga flowws through the states of UK, UP , delhi and west bangal. Ganga has self cleaning healing properties.
