Sperms are otherwise called as Gametes or Spermatozoa. These sperms consist of a head which has the nucleus, mitochondria which act as the powerhouse and a tail. Spermatozoa contain the 23rd chromosome. This 23d chromosome might contain either X chromosome or Y chromosome and it responsible to determine the gender of the baby.

The ratio of the sperm is 1:2 between the egg and zygote. Sperm contains the genetic material from the father actually and on the other hand, the egg contains the genetic material from the mother.
