What is the greatest number of triangular sections, each with a base of 5 inches and a height of 8 inches, that can be cut from a rectangular piece of paper measuring 30 inches by 40 inches?

area of whole rectangular piece = 30*40 = 1200 in²
area of required triangle =  1/2*5*8 = 20 in²

no. of triangles can be cut = area of whole piece of rectangular / area of required triangle
                                          = 1200 / 20
                                          =  60

ANSWER : Maximum 60 pieces of triangle can be cut from whole rectangular  sheet or piece.
