What is the half of the area of the triangle whose vertices are (1,1),(3, 1), (1, 3)​

To Find:

half of area of triangle

Proof:

area of triangle = 1/2 | x1(y2 - y3) + x2 ( y3-y1) + x3 ( y2-y1)^2

area = 1/2 | 1(1-3) + 3(3-1) + 1(1-1)|

= 1/2 | -2+6|

= 2 square units

half of area of rectangle = 1/2 [2] = 1 sq units
