Answer:

Starch consists of 2 components namely amylose and amylopectin. Amylose is unbranched structure consists of alpha 1-4 glycosidic bond. Amylopectin is branched structure consists of alpha 1-4 & alpha 1-6 glycosidic bond. In starch branching points occur every 24 to 30 glucose residues.
