Prime numbers : The numbers whose factors are 1 and the number itself is called

Prime numbers.

Example :

2,3,5,7,11,13,…

2 is the smallest even prime number and 3 is the smallest odd prime number.

Composite Number

: The number which has at least one factor other than 1 and the number itself.

Example : 4,6,8,9,12,…

4 is the smallest Composite number

Hence answer to your question

HCF(smallest Composite number,smallest prime number) = the smallest even prime number or 2

smallest prime number is 2
smallest composite number is 4.
we should find HCF of 2 and 4.

Euclid's division algorithm:
4=2*2+0
so HCF is 2

prime factorisation method:
2=2^1
4=2^2
HCF is the product of least power of each common prime factor.
so HCF is 2^1=2
