SOLUTION :

The smallest composite  number =  4 = 2²

The smallest prime  number =  2 = 2¹

[HCF = product of the smallest power ]

HCF = 2

Hence , the HCF of the smallest composite number and the smallest prime number is 2.

★★COMPOSITE NUMBER :

A number is called a composite number , if it has at least one  factor other than 1 (one) and the number itself .

E g. 4, 6, 24, 45, 188 are composite numbers.

★★PRIME NUMBER : A number is called a prime number, if it has no factor other than one and the number itself.

E.g - 2, 3, 5, 7, 11, 23,.... are prime  numbers..

HCF : HCF of two or more numbers =  product ★★of the smallest power of each common prime factor involved in the numbers.

**1 is neither Prime nor composite.

**The smallest composite  number is 4 it is even also and the smallest composite odd number is 9.

**The smallest prime number is 2 and the smallest prime odd number is 3.

raftaardeepakdp: First Composite number is 4
raftaardeepakdp: ..and fi4st prime number is 2 so we get HCF of 4 and 2 is 2.

Answer:

Step-by-step explanation:

Composite number : Any positive integers that has a factor other than 1 and itself.

Ex: 4,6,8,9,10.

Prime number: Any positive integers that has no positive divisors other than 1 and itself.

Ex: 2,3,5,7,11.

Now, We have to find the HCF of smallest composite number and smallest prime number.

⇒ HCF(4,2) = 2.

Therefore, HCF of smallest composite numbers and prime numbers is 2.

Hope it helps!
