Answer:

The heart is a pump, usually beating about 60 to 100 times per minute. With each heartbeat, the heart sends blood throughout our bodies, carrying oxygen to every cell. After delivering the oxygen, the blood returns to the heart. The heart then sends the blood to the lungs to pick up more oxygen.

Heart :

Heart is one of the most important and vital organ of the human body. It pumps blood to all part of the body. It is divided into four parts/chambers namely left auricle and ventricle, right auricle and ventricle. The muscle layer of the heart is termed the myocardium and is made up of cardiomyocytes. It is about the size of a fist, located just behind and slightly left of the breastbone. It is protected by the rib cage against major injury. Measuring electrical heart information is referred to as Electrocardiography (ECG or EKG). The right atrium receives deoxygenated blood from systemic veins; the left atrium receives oxygenated blood from the pulmonary veins. The right ventricle receives deoxygenated blood from the right atrium, then pumps the blood along to the lungs to get oxygen. The left ventricle receives oxygenated blood from the left atrium, then sends it on to the aorta. The aorta branches into the systemic arterial network that supplies all of the body. When the flow of oxygen-rich blood in one or more of the coronary arteries, which supply the heart muscle, suddenly becomes blocked, and a section of heart muscle can't get enough oxygen heart attack occurs. When the heart muscle is unable to pump enough blood to meet the body's needs for blood and oxygen heart failure happens.

Hope it helps you ^_^
