Vijayanagar kingdom was founded in 1336 ce.it wa sruled by muslim rulers of deccan for about 300 years in the courced of indian history.this kingdom was known as the deccan sultanate.

the vijayanagar kingdom present karnataka was founded in the year 1336 AD and collapsed in 1646AD. there are many famous rulers of vijayanagar kingdom. one of them was krishna deva raya who had court of scholars known as "astadikhasala'. one of the famous poets in the court of tenali ramakrishna who is also known as a man of wits.
