when there is intermixing of orbitals of equal energy this process is called hybridisation ,, and also there are many types as sp, sp2,sp3 ,sp3d, sp3d2,sp3d3

and respectively they form shape is linear, planar triganal, tetrahedral, regional ni pyramidal, octahedral, and Pentagonal bipyramid,,,

some examples are,

SP,=C2H2

sp2=C2H4

sp3=C2H6

sp3d= Pf5

sp3d2=sf6

sp3d3=IF7

hope it helps you dear
