the hybridization of bromine in BrF5 is SP³d².
Because its forms five single bond &have one lone pair that consider as sigma. So total sigma bond is 6. Hence hybridisation is SP³d².

answer1))))Br has 5 valence electrons which combine with 5 fluorine atoms with covalent bonds. This means that the molecular geometry of this molecule is octahedral so it will follow the hybridization of an octahedral molecule. Therefore making it sp3d2 hybridized.
answer2))))Br has seven valence electrons of which five are used to form covalent bonds to the 5F atoms; that leaves a lone pair. The system is AX5E; it is based on an octahedron. For this the Br uses
sp3d(x^2-y^2)dz^2 (sp3d2). When naming the structure ignore the lone pair, so BrF5 is square-based pyramidal.
Hybridization: if you need n e- pairs (bond pairs, lone pairs) to accommodate then you need to hybridize n atomic orbitals. Use the s and p orbitals first (lower energy) then the d orbitals and use the d orbitals that point at the e- pairs.
AX2: linear sp, spz
AX3: planar triangular sp2, spx,py
AX4: tetrahedral: sp3
AX5: trigonal bipyramidal sp3d, sp3dz^2
AX6: octahedral sp3d2, sp3d(x^2-y^2)dz

I hope this will help you
