In other words, a proposition, or set of propositions, set forth as an explanation for the occurrence of some specified group of phenomena, either asserted merely as a provisional conjecture to guide investigation (working hypothesis) or accepted as highly probable in the light of established facts.
Some Examples are:
1. If I replace the battery in my car, then my car will get better gas mileage.
2. If I eat more vegetables, then I will lose weight faster.
3. If I add fertilizer to my garden, then my plants will grow faster.
