1. Louis XVI faced virulent opposition from provincial parliaments which were the spearheads of the privileged classes' resistance to royal resistance. 
2.Due to past wars, France was in a huge debt. To reduce the increase in debt, France removed ministers, which only caused it to increase.

The main causes of the French Revolution were following :

French peoples was not happy  with the king in his inability to deal with declining living conditions The king was responsible for  declining financial situation, food shortages, and certain religious intolerances.


As the people became more frustrated  of the power of the privileges ,they took action to overthrow the monarchy

They  made  a new government that would be based on a constitution and in which representatives of the people would run the country.
