Although the green revolution helped farmers to increase their productivity but there were also some demerits of it.

1. It introduced the farmers with Chemicals,fertilizers and pesticides which are very harmful for the soil. It affects soil badly.

2. It disturbed the groundwater table completely. The use of chemicals and multiple cropping decreased the groundwater level

2. the groundwater also got polluted and the level of water table decreased and fresh water percentage has been reduced
