Outside of Earth's equatorial areas, weather patterns are driven largely by ocean currents. Currents are movements of ocean water in a continuous flow, created largely by surface winds but also partly by temperature and salinity gradients, Earth's rotation, and tides (the gravitational effects of the sun and moon).

The ocean currents affects temp. on the land by the hot air heating up the cold land and by doing this it creates a lot of humidity and since humidity takes a long time to heat up , it maintains its heat for a long time so heat does not fluctuates as much as other places and it makes the day and night of almost same temperature. Besides this there are many other factors that affect temperature of a place.
