Multiple political party system has certainly hampered the rate of development.

These regional parties though are founded on the sentiment of a particular state or culture or ethnicity but soon they all start to accumulate wealth for themselves.

The national level parties has to make alliance with these regional parties & these regional parties make full use of the opportunity to loot...

Regional parties has more cons than pros..Indian politics would have been much better without these parties...

A two party or three party system would have helped India developed much faster!!!!

This resulted in mid-term polls many a times. Congress lost its dominance as a result of this. many religional parties like TDP , RJD , Akali , etc... started playing thier influential role. They started participating in government decision making
