Answer:tourism help in development of our country by medium of exchange of money

Explanation:

Tourism and its development is increasingly being viewed as an important tool in promoting economic growth. The UNWTO 2002 report clearly demonstrates that tourism has a major role in balanced sustainable development, and can be effectively harnessed to generate net benefits for the poor. After petroleum, tourism happens to be principal source of foreign exchange and a major export for almost 83% developing countries and plays a major part in the world’s growing service sector (UNWTO2004). There is a deep rooted relationship between tourism and economic development for example tourism provides more job opportunities for local citizens, helps them to start businesses that cater to tourists, leads to the generation of revenue from tourist spending and fiscal policies, and aids in the development of infrastructure. The most direct effect is in the primary sector of tourism such as in , transportation, restaurants, retail, lodging and amusements. An impact analysis of the economic activity of tourism focuses majorly on changes in sales, income and employment in regions of tourism activity (Stynes 1999). Therefore it can be stated that tourism and economic growth go hand in hand. According to World travel and Tourism Council, India, the direct contribution of Travel & Tourism to GDP in 2014 was INR2,478.2bn (2.2% of GDP).This specifically highlights the role played by the economic activity by industries such as hotels, travel agents, airlines and other passenger transportation services (excluding commuter services). The direct contribution of Travel & Tourism to GDP is expected to grow by 7.2% pa to INR5, 339.2bn (2.5% of GDP) by 2025. This paper is an attempt to highlight that how tourism industry is adding to the economic growth of Himachal Pradesh and how it can further bring development and prosperity to the state, widely referred to as “Dev Bhoomi ” .
