ATP is Adenosine Triphosphate which is the energy currency of any cell and used in biomolecular reactions as an energy source.
Mitochondria is the organelle which releases it so it is also known as the powerhouse of the cell.

ATP is the energy currency for most cellular processes... the energy released during respiration is go to make an ATP molecule from ADP AND inorganic phosphate..
mitochondria is responsible for it
