heya...!

here's your answer..

Bile is the greenish fluid mixture containing bile pigments, bile salts, cholestrol and phospholipids..

FUNCTIONS OF BILE.

Neutralisation of HCl: its sodium bicarbonate neutralises HCl of chyme.

Emulsification: Sodium glycocholate and sodium taurocholate break the large fat droplets into the smaller ones. This process is called emulsification.

Absorption of fat and fat-soluble vitamins: Its salts help in absorption of fat and fat-soluble vitamins (A, D, E, K) in the small intestine.

Excretion: Bile pigments (bilirubin and biliverdin) are excretory products.

Prevention of decomposition: Bile is an alkaline hence it prevents the decomposition of food by preventing the growth of bacteria on it.

Stimulation of peristalsis: Bile increases peristalsis of the intestine.
