Bile salts are require by our bodies to help break down fats, aid digestion, absorb important vitamins & eliminate toxins. Bile salts are stored in our gallbladders when they're not being used. If our gallbladders are removed for any reason, it can lead to a bile salt deficiency .

  • Bile salts are twenty four carbon water soluble products of cholesterol metabolism.

  • Bile salts are produced in the liver, secreted into the bile ducts and gallbladder, and sent from there to the small intestine by way of the common bile duct.

  • The purpose of bile salts in the duodenum is to solubilize ingested fat and fat-soluble vitamins, facilitating their digestion and absorption.
