1) It gives power and strength to the state
2) It shows the sovereign will of the people
3) It gives detailed account of the various organisations of the government
4) At the same time, it limits the powers of the government
5) It sets out the rules by which the state is to be governed
6) It provides the public with certain fundamental rights which are enforceable
7) It establishes linkage between the state and its citizens
8)Also makes people aware about their duties.
This explains to us that a constitution is necessary for proper governance in a country like India. It does not discriminate and is common to all.
