1) Its the main chain for a genetic variation which leads to formation of new species.

2) characteristics of the parental species is passed on to maintain the trait.

3)the changes\mutations made during adaptations should pass on and thus they are copied.

4)without the DNA copying the basic metabolic activities and structural growth of the organisms would be blocked.

5)DNA copying is the basic instructional manual for a cell to perform its tasks.

Its the main thing which differs a muscle cell from a neuron.
