What is the importance of dust in atmosphere ? (at least 3 importance)
Answers
Dust is a vital component of the atmosphere for many reasons. One is providing something for water to condense on. A lot of people don’t realize that if it wasn’t for particulate matter such as dust and smoke, we would have no clouds or precipitation. If enough dust gathers in the atmosphere, it can block radiation. Dust from the Sahara desert seems to play a particularly important role in Atlantic hurricane formation although the relationship is not completely understood. Finally, the prettiest benefit of dust in the atmosphere can be seen in the reds of a cloudless sunrise or sunset!
The atmosphere protects living things from the Sun's most harmful rays. Gases reflect or absorb the strongest rays of sunlight (Figure below). The atmosphere shields Earth from the most harmful solar rays.
