The importance of Harsha period’s coins and seals is the information we get about the economy and other details of his reign.

Explanation:

Archaeological material like coins, seals and other inscriptions are the source of information about our history. We come to know about a particular event or belief or significance of a reign through the coins and seals that we can attribute to that period.  So far, we have found three inscriptions on copper plates that give us details of land grants made by Harsha.

Other archaeological material of Harsha period are the Nalanda Clay Seal, some silver coins bearing  Harsha's title Shiladitya, the Sonepat Copper Seal, etc. We have also uncovered some gold coins from Farukhabad, UP belonging to Harshavardhana’s reign.
