Hey Friend! Her is my attempt ✍️

HDI or Human Development Index is important as it gives more info about the status of a country than the Per Capita Income method adopted by World Bank.
HDI tells about the health, wealth, education and life expectancy of a country.
As per the available data Norway was leading the table in HDI.

Answer:

Human Development Index is to highlight that people and their abilities should be the criteria for assessing the development of the country, not the economic growth.

Explanation:

  • HDI is a measure of average achievement in important dimensions of human development like being knowledgeable, having a long and healthy life, and having a decent standard of living.
  • It can be used to question national policy choices.
  • It is a geometric mean of normalized indices for each dimension.
  • It is practised to calculate how development has improved the lives of humans.

Hence, HDI is useful to improve economic growth.
