My answer is oil and gas brings in quick and easy money. the industry is capable of creating millions of jobs directly and indirectly from upstream midstream and downstream oil and gas. depending on the technology put in place crude passes through different channels until it reaches the final consumer and it creates lots of jobs on it. to cut the long story short oil and gas brings prosperity to a nation if well managed. but don't be carried away with the good things because it could also be a cause. When prices fall you will hate oil wealth because extravagant nations might not see it coming. Yes we can pretend that the economy is growing but poverty could still be there because the wealth circulates in few hands. I can go on and on but will stop here.
