Socialisation means learning your culture, norms, beliefs, and values. Peer groups are people that are your age and they can influence you. Gender roles are things that influence people in different ways, depending on how that person takes it.

The importance of peer groups in socialisation is :-

1) Peers are a group of more or less same aged people, sharing same work status, ideas, creativity etc.

2) Socialisation is the way of adopting into social customs, rituals and hence its very important to be in a social group.

3) Peers help influencing ​one's thought, give new ideologies, incorporate new social trends etc.

4) Therefore peer plays an important role in socialization as they share same attitude, conflict, thinking etc.
