What is the importance of PH in everyday life
Answers
pH is the measure of Hydrogen ions in something. Things with low concentrations of these ions we call acid. Things with high concentrations of these ions we call base.
Two important ways pH impacts everyday life is in 1) water and in 2) soil.
When an acid and a base meet, they form water. Our bodies perform the best at a particular pH. So, the pH in our bodies at any given time determines if we should take in more vegetables, fruits, nuts, seafood, or dairy. Our cells function in only a narrow range of pH. Improper pH will cause kidney problems, thyroid problems, metabolism disorders, difficulty for your body in the way it processes oxygen, higher cortisol, loss of muscle mass (your body starts to cannibalize itself to maintain the necessary pH), and other health problems.
Each plant has a soil pH range that creates the most nutritious produce and the healthiest plant. This impacts you everyday you grow something or purchase something from the grocer.
