Members can take small loans from the group
The group charges interest on the group but less than what money lenders charge
They get timely loans
If the groups are regular in savings it becomes eligible for availing loans from the bank

SHGs are self help groups mainly in rural areas . A self-help group (SHG) is a village-based financial intermediary committee usually composed of 10–20 local women or men. People meet regularly and save between Rs 20-100 depending upon the capability of person.
