what is the importance of soil ? how can we say that soil contains water. ?

Soil is very important as it helps in crop cultivation. It holds plants.
It also helps in constructions sometimes.

Yes, soil contains water because when it rains the water goes into the soil .
Due to this only hand pumps work . The water is stored underground .

Plants also use the water in soil to make food and transport water to all parts of the plants. _________________________________

Soil is very important for us in following ways -
(1) Farmers cultivate food and folder crops.
(2) The government is able to the food security.
(3) Bricks are made of soil which helps in making buildings.
(4) It gives shelter to insects and animals like rats, snakes, earthworms,etc.
(5) It gives nutrients to plants.

Soil contains water between the voids in partially saturated soil and consists water. It hold the soil to absorb water.
