The standard time of India is important as is avoid's the confusion between the Indian states, as, if few states have different timings, there would be confusion in the states especially in railways. A standard time of a country also maintains the unity in the country. It also solved the problem of the 2 hours time difference between Arunachal Pradesh and Gujarat. The standard Meridian is located in Mirzapur, Uttar Pradesh.
