As of 1996, it was the eighteenth most spoken language, with over 74 million speakers worldwide. It is one of the official languages of India, Singapore, Malaysia and Sri Lanka. Tamil is one of the few living classical languages and has an unbroken literary tradition of over two millennia.Everybody is proud of their identity but tamilians always more proud of their language because they have a history that no other languages have. The language is used for communication but tamilians see as a pride and honor of Tamil language. The oldest language now also in existence is Tamil language.
