Answer:

The thunderstorms accompanied with strong winds and heavy rainfall occur in Assam and West Bengal. These local winds are known as Kalbaisakhi which means 'the calamity of the month of Baisakh'. In Assam, these storms are known as Bardoli Chheerha. They originate over the Chotanagpur Plateau and are carried eastward by westerly winds. They bring rainfall in Assam, West Bengal and Odisha. This rainfall is quite beneficial for growing jute and rice in West Bengal and tea in Assam.
