REPUBLIC ACT NO. 6506 - AN ACT CREATING THE BOARD OF EXAMINERS FOR CRIMINOLOGISTS IN THE PHILIPPINES AND FOR OTHER PURPOSES

Importance of the Republic act no 6506:

Without first obtaining a certificate of registration from the Board, no one is allowed to practice or propose to practice criminology in the Philippines.

A Board of Examiners for Criminologists in the Philippines shall be established, consisting of a Chairman and two members ,These individuals shall be chosen by the President of the Philippines, on the recommendation of the Commissioner of Civil Service, from among the registered criminologists, if any, or from well-known criminologists with a reputable reputation in the field, with the Commission of Civil Service's approval. With the caveat that the first Board of Examiners for Criminologists established in line with this Act shall get a certificate of registration as criminologists without having to undergo a prior examination.
