Transpiration is the process of water movement through a plant and its evaporation from aerial parts, such asleaves, stems and flowers. Water is necessary for plants but only a small amount of water taken up by the roots is used for growth and metabolism. The remaining 97–99.5% is lost by transpiration and guttation.

When the moisture from the roots is carried to the leaves, and then it is released to the atmosphere, the process is called transpiration. This causes the rain to occur. And thats why we say "grow more trees" because at one point of time, we will be in draught stricken area with lack of rain and there will be lack of water eventually :)
